Yacht Rock at 10 High/ Sin and CoSin

First of all, let me start by saying that 10 High (below Dark Horse) has produced some of our most entertaining nights in Atlanta thus far.  Thursday nights, as recently discovered by June and I, is a band called the Yacht Rock Revue.  They are a 70s and 80s soft rock cover band.  And they are WONDERFUL!  We had so much fun dancing to their cool sound, and they are not bad looking either.

Anyways, as always, June and I had spotted a couple guys before the show that seemed to have spotted us as well.  But Yacht Rock waits for no one, and we rushed downstairs to dance and sing along about pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and liking champagne. When we had had enough reminiscing of our birth decade, we ascended to Dark Horse and were immediately approached by the pair of gentlemen from earlier.  They were relieved to see that we had returned, because they claimed we had disappeared so quickly before.  They asked us to accompany them to Atkins Park for a drink, and we obliged.  The night ended there, but not before mass amounts of dancing in inappropriate areas, and philosophizing about human beings’ want to be inspired by a companion.   A successful night, in more ways than one--these two made quite an impression on us...

Presently Present,

I’m having some trouble starting out this entry. I’m in a state of happiness that just is. The story is fun (and you know I’ll get to it), but in terms of kicking off the paragraph, it’s hard to describe a peaceful happiness.

We met these guys at Dark Horse after the Yacht Rock Concert and I admit—I was actually nervous! These are the kind of guys that you want to fight for-- handsome, cultured, geniuses, and gentlemanly while still throwing back a couple of drinks. Frivolity occurred. They paid for our drinks, slow-danced with us in the middle of the bar, walked us home (without creeping), and discussed mathematics and humanity. We actually have made plans with them for a later date! (Date? oh my goodness—we’re going on dates! Eee!)

Elated,
June
